This week our Australian Eurovision Fan of the Week is Nicholas from Brisbane aka @nickjmb on Twitter. Read his Q&A with us below.
What is your name and where are you from? Nicholas Breust, I'm from Brisbane.
When did you first get into Eurovision? I've watched for many years, but I remember 2014 being the year that really hooked me in.
Which is your favourite Eurovision year and why? 2016 - it was the first Eurovision I attended, all of the acts were amazing (especially Dami) and the show itself was so amazing to see live.
It has to be up there, good quality songs, show itself amazing and also our first contest live as well! ~ Aussievision
If you could change one thing about Eurovision what would it be? Go back to 2013-2015 scoring.
If only they had it for 2016 - Australia would have won.... :(
If you could only listen to three Eurovision songs for the rest of time, what would you choose? You Are My Only One; Fuego; Euphoria
Which Eurovision song:
Had the best staging? There's so many! You Are My Only One was pretty cool!
Best live vocal? Have to say, it's our Dami
Was robbed? Again, Dami!
Don't think we've ever heard an Australian say that before..... haha!
From before 2000 is your favourite? Making Your Mind Up by Buck's Fizz
Do you enjoy more now, than when they performed? A Million Voices - Polina Gagarina
I'm with you on that, it was barely in my 10 back in 2015 now I'm like wow, how did that not win ~ Dale
Did you last play? 2000 and Whatever (can that count?). Then Zero Gravity.
Is your guilty pleasure? Well I don't think it's a guilty pleasure, but I do enjoy some ABBA from time to time
You're not Muriel... ABBA are definitely not a guilty pleasure!
Any other interesting honourable mentions? Verka Serduchka... a Eurovision great with a classic (and controversial, depending who you talk to) song!
What national finals or songs are you most looking forward to? I'm keen to see what Germany has to offer and also Cyprus... can they better Fuego?
Do you already have a favourite song for 2019? Besides our Kate's song, I'm really loving the Italian entry Soldi.
Soldi is getting a LOT of love.
What did you think of Australia Decides?
It was fantastic! I felt so proud that we had a national final and were able to not only enjoy the acts in concert but vote for our own entrant this year. It feels like we're more part of the Eurovision family now.
And finally... Tonight Again, Sound of Silence, Don’t Come Easy, We Got Love or Zero Gravity?
Sound of Silence
Thanks for your time Nicholas!
