Albania: Aussievision's Festivali i Këngës 63 rankings

This year Albanian broadcaster RTSH has treated us to another sensational line-up of artists for their National Final Festivali i Këngës 63. The winner of the combination of jury and televote will represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.

The final will be on Sunday 22 December (21:00 CET) in Europe or Monday 23 December (7:00 AEDT) in Australia. The whole festival runs over four nights between 19-22 December locally and features a 'nostalgia' song cover night on the third evening.

30 artists are in the running for Eurovision this year. Four Aussievision team members have awarded the songs points in the usual Eurovision scoring system (i.e. 12 points, 10 points...etc) and then totalled for overall results. Tie-breaks are decided by the highest single score for the song, working down from 12 points until a split can be found.

Check out below to see which songs scored highly with our team!

6. Epos - Kurajo dhe Zjarr (12 points)

Highs: 12 points Jamie

Lows: 0 points Dale, Liv & Craig

"I absolutely love the guitar riffs and beat in this song and I really hope Albania send this rock banger to Eurovision." ~ Jamie

5. Jet - Gjallë (19 points - Tie Break)

Highs: 7 points Liv & Craig, 5 points Dale

Lows: 0 points Jamie

4. Shkodra Elektronike - Zjerm (19 points - Tie Break)

Highs: 8 points Jamie & Craig, 3 points Liv

Lows: 0 points Dale

"Something unique and different for FiK - love a good point of difference! I love the daring combination of genres here - it could be a complete trainwreck live, especially with the cacophony of sounds between instrumental and vocals. I worry. " ~Liv

3. Lorenc Hasrama - Frymë (26 points)

Highs: 10 points Liv, 7 points Dale

Lows: 4 points Jamie, 5 points Craig

"When it comes to Albania - I am ALWAYS going to magnetise to the best emotional male ballad of the year with strong vocals, Lorenc, this year you take top honours. I can imagine Frymë being a dynamic performance with the live orchestra - I wouldn't be surprised if the juries eat this up." ~Liv

2. Ardit Çuni - Amane (28 points)

Highs: 10 points Dale & Craig, 8 points Liv

Lows: 0 points Jamie

"Occasionally this risks feeling a bit disjointed, but it keeps up a good energy all the way through, and feels fun in a way that the other big ethnic banger in this selection doesn't to me. Much of how this goes will come down to how it presents onstage, but the elements are here for a good FiK banger in the "Sekret" vein. I like!" ~Craig

"Love that this brings a very modern song with some fantastic traditional nods. This would have been my 12 points except for just too much instrumental time, but perhaps that will elevate even further live? We'll have to see!" ~Dale

1. Elvana Gjata - Karnaval (46 points)

Highs: 12 points Dale, Liv & Craig

Lows: 10 points Jamie

"This has immediate impact. It's well constructed pop that sounds like something between a World Cup anthem and that random beach club song you shazam when on a European holiday. Elvana is a star and will no doubt lift this live. Wish it had a little more of an Albanian edge to it, but quality fun pop is still quality." ~Dale

"Elvana's song is so catchy and I would also be happy if this represents Albania at Eurovision. This has the potential to make it to the Grand Final." ~Jamie

"This track doesn't have the same hold over me that "Me Tana" did back in the day, but it's punchy, well-produced and sounds like it's been put together with an eye on big stage production. Something about the mix of Albanian and Spanish really tickles me as well (please don't translate it Elvana!) I'm not silly enough to predict how an Albanian jury will vote in advance, but I think this should comfortably win this selection and do well once it gets to Basel. A strong return from Elvana!" ~Craig

"I used to be a fan, but after seeing this I'm the whole air conditioner" ~Liv
