Australia Decides Aussievision Online Poll - The Results

After all 10 songs were released for Eurovision Australia Decides, we polled fans on their favourites for the contest.

Rather than a usual Eurovision points system of 12, 10, 8 to 1, we wanted to more closely represent a potential televote.

Those taking part had three votes and could use them all on one song or distribute them out to two or three songs.

Last year the poll accurately predicted a Kate Miller-Heidke win and won only 0.1% off her actual percentage score!

We received 350 votes for all over the world with 211 from Australia.

After weeding out some spam and multiple voters (yes we can tell) these were the results of the Australian 'televote'.

  1. Montaigne - 'Don't Break Me' - 22.4%

  2. Vanessa Amorosi - 'Lessons of Love' - 16.3%

  3. Jaguar Jonze - 'Rabbit Hole' - 14.5%

  4. Mitch Tambo - 'Together' - 10.9%

  5. iOTA - 'Life' - 7.8%

  6. Didirri - 'Raw Stuff' - 6.9%

  7. Jordan-Ravi - 'Pushing Stars' - 6.7%

  8. Casey Donovan - 'Proud' - 5.4%

  9. Diana Rouvas - 'Can We Make Heaven' - 5.3%

  10. Jack Vidgen - 'I Am King I Am Queen' - 3.8%

Interestingly when looking from the 119 votes from outside Australia, the results were different:

  1. Vanessa Amorosi - 'Lessons of Love' - 17.6%

  2. Montaigne - 'Don't Break Me' - 17.1%

  3. Jaguar Jonze - 'Rabbit Hole' - 15.2%

  4. Jack Vidgen - 'I Am King I Am Queen' - 9.5%

  5. Didirri - 'Raw Stuff' - 9.2%

  6. Diana Rouvas - 'Can We Make Heaven' - 7.9%

  7. Mitch Tambo - 'Together' - 7.3%

  8. Jordan-Ravi - 'Pushing Stars' - 7.1%

  9. iOTA - 'Life' - 4.9%

  10. Casey Donovan - 'Proud' - 4.3%

So will these results be replicated on Saturday night? Well in a tighter year than 2019, we think the live performances and staging will be the key factor.

Voting lines open at 20:30 (8.30pm) AEDT on Friday 7 February, and will remain open throughout the live TV final, which will be broadcast live across Australia on SBS and at SBS On Demand on Saturday 8 February from 8.30pm (AEDT). The voting service will be available until 22:15 (10.15pm) AEDT on Saturday 8 February.
