Australian broadcaster SBS has announced the new commentary team for Eurovision 2025 onwards.

Logie-award winning presenter Tony Armstrong and global queer icon Courtney Act will take the reigns at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

The news comes after Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst announced their retirement from the job in December.

The pair had been on commentary duties since 2017 and had hosted the three editions of Eurovision - Australia Decides.

About Courtney Act

Courtney Act is not unknown in the Eurovision universe. She competed at Australia Decides in 2019 with Fight for Love.

She joined the commentary team in 2024 as a roving reporter interviewing the competing artists.

Her CV is immense. After competing in the first Australian Idol, she went on to win Celebrity Big Brother UK and finish runner-up on RuPaul's Drag Race.

She has hosted numerous shows, including One Plus One and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras coverage.

Courtney shared her excitement of taking up commentary duties with Tony.

“I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy Eurovision last year- and this year I’m back, now with everyone’s favourite IT man, Tony Armstrong," she said.

"I’ll be offering my commentary expertise on every costume reveal, key change, wind machine and pyro moment I know Switzerland will deliver. Tony’s already taught me a thing or two about team sport energy, and I’ll be returning the favour with a crash course in camp!”

Tony Armstrong is a much-loved TV personality and proud Gamilaroi man,

This will be his first ever Eurovision but will bring a wealth of TV experience with him. After making his name known on NITV’s football chat show Yokayi Footy, Tony then won many new fans as the sports presenter on ABC Breakfast. He has since hosted Great Australian Stuff and Eat the Invaders as well as hosting award-winning podcast The Pool Room.

Speaking of awards, Tony won Most Popular Talent at the 2022 Logies and was nominated for the Gold Logie in 2024.

Tony says he is excited to take on this new challenge.

"I’m so excited to jump into the world of Eurovision with the one and only Courtney Act who has already taken me under her wing," he said.

"I’m definitely not envious of her brilliance and my jealousy won’t make it on screen I promise. Eurovision holds such a special place in so many hearts around the world. I look forward to being a part of the spectacle along with Courtney!”

Australia will be represented by Go-Jo at Eurovision in Basel with his song Milkshake Man.
