Australia's Tones and I wins OGAE Song Contest 2021

Australia has won the OGAE Song Contest 2021 with Tones and I's 'Fly Away’ taking out the title.

Tones and I is an Australian singer, songwriter, and record producer who took the world by storm with her hit 'Dance Monkey' which reached No. 1 in over 30 countries around the world. 'Fly Away' is Tones' lead single from her debut album 'Welcome to the Madhouse' released this year. In a Rolling Stones article about the song Tones said: "'Fly Away' is about chasing your dreams, reaching your goals, and the realities that come with it".

The OGAE Song Contest has been running since 1986 and is run by the international branch of Eurovision fan clubs known as Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l'Eurovision, English translation General Organisation of Eurovision Fans, or OGAE for short.

In news revealed overnight by the OGAE International Network, they announced that the Presidents of OGAE clubs around the world approved to merge the OGAE Song Contest and the OGAE Video Contest from 2022 into the OGAE Song Contest.

Once the OGAE Video Song Contest 2021 winner is revealed in December the OGAE International Network will decide which of the two winning clubs will host OGAE Song Contest 2022.

So we will have to wait and see if OGAE Australia can host next years Contest, fingers crossed!
