Estonian broadcaster ERR has announced the names of the artists competing in the 2025 edition of their Eurovision national selection show Eesti Laul.
This announcement was made on Estonian TV show Ringvaade, where on Monday and Tuesday night European time, the names of 15 of the 16 songs and artists competing in the final were revealed.
In addition to the artist announcement, the titles of the songs hoping to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland were also released.
15 songs were chosen from 175 entries submitted to the competition by a 34-member professional jury, who voted on the songs without knowing the artists or songwriters.
This jury featured some famous Eurovision faces including Alika, who came eighth representing Estonia in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Bridges, Tanja Mihhailova-Saar, who represented Estonia at Eurovision in 2014, and Jüri Pootsmann, Estonia's 2016 Eurovision artist.
A sixteenth finalist will be chosen in the beginning of January, with the Estonian public having a say in the selection.
Former Eurovision artists
Among the lineup are some big names, including former Eurovision artists Anna Sahlene.
Anna Sahlene represented Estonia at Eurovision when the country hosted the contest in 2002.
Performing under the name Sahlene, her entry Runaway received third place in Tallinn.
In 2022 she competed in Eesti Laul with Champion finishing in 4th.
Anna Sahlene will compete in the Eesti Laul 2025 final with the song Love Me Low.
