With the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest just over a month away, we're now in those strange few weeks between the national final season and the beginning of first rehearsals.

Whilst some artists will give us a glimpse of their live vocals at the various Eurovision pre-parties, for other acts we'll have to wait until rehearsals begin in Basel next month.

Based on everything we've seen so far, fourteen Aussievision contributors have each chosen their 10 qualifiers from Semi-final 1 and we've tallied up the totals for an overall Aussievision team prediction.

Semi-final 1

The 10 acts the Aussievision team has collectively picked to qualify from semi-final 1 are:

(The percentage of team members picking that nation in brackets)

Poland  - (100%)

Estonia - (100%)

Ukraine - (100%)

Sweden - (100%)

Belgium - (92.9%)

Norway - (85.7%)

Albania - (85.7%)

Netherlands - (78.6%)

San Marino - (71.4%)

Cyprus - (71.4%)

With the following five entries missing out:

Iceland - (50%)

Azerbaijan - (35.7%)

Portugal - (21.4%)

Slovenia - (7.1%)

Croatia - (0%)

The Aussievision team was also asked:

Which of your 10 qualifiers from SF1 do you think is most likely to not qualify?

San Marino - (42.9%)

Azerbaijan - (21.4%)

Iceland - (14.3%)

Belgium, Cyprus & Norway - (7.1%)

Which of your 5 non-qualifiers from SF1 do you think is most likely to qualify?

Croatia, Cyprus, Iceland & San Marino - 14.3%

Azerbaijan, Estonia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal & Slovenia - 7.1%

Who do you think will win semi-final 1?

Sweden - (92.9%)

Estonia - (7.1%)

So if the Aussievision team is correct it looks like Poland, Estonia, Ukraine and Sweden are all safe. The entire team sees them qualifying and no-one believes they are a chance not to qualify.

At the other end of the scale, all of our non-qualifying entries have at least one member of the team who believes they could be a shock qualifier. Even Croatia, who none of the team believe can qualify, has two members of the team who believe they could be a shock qualification.

How accurate will these predictions be? Last year the team collectively had a 80% success rate, so many picks may be right but there's usually always one or two surprises. We'll just have to wait a few more weeks to find out!
