Straight men had a few key differences when breaking down the results of our recent public poll of the Eurovision 2025 songs.

There aren't many places where being a straight man is well, the minority.

Among the Eurovision "fandom," we have consistently found far more LGBTQIA+ people than what we see in the general population.

Our recent public poll saw 56% identify as part of the rainbow community, while our Eurovision fan survey in 2023 had this at 60%.

Meanwhile, in our recent public poll, just 14% of voters identified as heterosexual men.

The big difference isn't representative of fans overall though. When it comes to that Saturday night in May, many more straight men will tune in.

However, when it comes to the pointy end of Eurovision fans, where they are across all 37 songs in March and early April, it's mainly the LGBTQIA+ community and straight women who dominate.

So can this group of 14% straight male voters give us an indication of what songs might work for their "community"?

Let's take a look at their votes:

The straight male Top 20

19. Montenegro: Nina Žižić – Dobrodošli

Winner and Top 10

Compared to the public poll results overall, straight men opted for a different winner with Erika Vikman for Finland coming out on top. Sweden won the public poll.

They did have the same top three as the public vote (Sweden, Albania and Finland) but just in a different order.

Overall, they shared eight of the same Top 10 as the public vote.

Within the Top 10, straight men put in Estonia (7th compared to 15th), Lithuania (=10th to 11th), Ukraine (=10th to 12th) and Iceland (=10th to 21st).

They booted out the Netherlands (13th compared to 6th) and France (19th compared to 10th) from their Top 10.
