Eurovision countries ranked by jury votes in the 2020s

With four Eurovision Song Contests under our belt since the turn of the decade, we're looking at how participation nations have gone with the jury.

Which countries fared the best so far, and which countries can look forward to improving their results to finish the 20s strong?

This particular ranking is based on the amount of jury points received in all Grand Finals held between 2021 and 2024. Countries participating in at least one Eurovision have been counted.

43rd to 11th

=40. Denmark - 0 points

=40. North Macedonia - 0 points

=40. Montenegro - 0 points

Denmark is the only active country in this group looking to make their first Grand Final this decade, with both North Macedonia and Montenegro withdrawing after 2022. However, it's worth noting North Macedonia finished last decade strong with a jury win in 2019 with Tamara Todevska's Proud scoring 247 points.

39. Romania - 12 points

38. Georgia - 15 points

37. Latvia - 36 points

36. San Marino - 37 points

35. Albania - 39 points

34. Slovenia - 48 points

33. Poland - 58 points

32. Luxembourg - 83 points

31. Moldova - 87 points

---

30. Russia - 104 points

29. Germany - 105 points

Germany narrowly missed earning triple digits from the jury in 2024, with Isaak's Always on the Run receiving 99 points. The last time Germany earned more than 100 points from the jury was in 2018, with Michael Schulte's You Let Me Walk Alone earning 204 points, their best result in the last ten years.

28. Norway - 115 points

27. Austria - 123 points

26. Czechia - 127 points

25. Azerbaijan - 135 points

=23. Netherlands - 140 points

=23. Bulgaria - 140 points

22. Ireland - 142 points

21. Serbia - 143 points

---

20. Cyprus - 152 points

19. Estonia - 193 points

18. Lithuania - 203 points

=16. Iceland - 208 points

=16. Malta - 208 points

Malta, yet to qualify under the current televote-only Semifinal system, is the best "one Contest wonder" so far this decade. 2015 Junior Eurovision winner Destiny earned 208 jury points with her upbeat number Je me casse in 2021, giving Malta its best result in the last ten years.

15. Armenia - 210 points

14. Croatia - 221 points

13. Finland - 252 points

12. Australia - 253 points

Although Australia narrowly missed the Grand Final in 2024, Aussie entries have fared well in the years they made the Grand Final. Both Sheldon Riley and Voyager earned 123 and 130 points from the jury, respectively.

11. Belgium - 257 points

Top 10

10. Greece - 290 points

9. Israel - 302 points

8. United Kingdom - 344 points

7. Spain - 351 points

Spain narrowly beat out the United Kingdom after relatively closely-fought battles over the past four years: 6-0, 231-283, 95-15, and 19-46. Both countries earned their best result in the last ten years in 2022, with Chanel's SloMo still impacting the Contest.

6. Portugal - 479 points

Top 5

5. Ukraine - 489 points

Although Ukraine scores roughly 1:2.5 between the jury and the televote (with a whopping 1,202 televote points), Ukraine hasn't earned less than 50 jury points in any Contest since 2021. This consistency, paired with good results from Kalush Orchestra and Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil, saw Ukraine edge Portugal out of the top five by just 10 points.

4. France - 529 points

Two strong chanson-style songs, Barbara Pravi's Voilà and Slimane's Mon amour, account for 466 of France's 529 jury points this decade. Interestingly, both songs scored nearly 1:1 with their televote results, showing popularity between both the juries and the voting public in equal measure.

3. Italy - 704 points

As a member of the Big 5 Italy appears in every Grand Final, which could lead to lower scores here and there. However, Italy is the only country which has also scored more than 150 points from the jury in every Contest this decade: their lowest result came on their home turf in Turin with Mahmood and Blanco's Brividi scoring 154 jury points. Although 3rd overall, this consistency may allow for another win soon.

2. Sweden - 769 points

Traditionally seen as "jury favorites" in fan circles, Sweden coincidentally scored their best jury results in the two years they had women represent them: Cornelia Jakobs earned 258 points in 2022, and Loreen earned a whopping 340 points in 2023. These two strong results helped buoy Sweden past Italy, but fell short of first by just two points.

1. Switzerland - 771 points

Switzerland has broken the code and found a winning formula, scoring two jury vote wins: Gjon's Tears Tout l'univers winning in 2021 with 267 points, and Eurovision 2024 winner Nemo scoring 365 points, or a staggering 84.5% of points possible. Consistently making the Grand Final this decade, Switzerland pips Sweden by just two points to be the jury leader this decade.

Weeks later, my email was inundated drift hunters with photographs of people enjoying their holiday at Summit Lake. Although it does not equate to traversing the dunes and seeing a fan holding my book, it remains an exhilarating experience.
