Eurovision on Tour hit Melbourne last night for the second stop of its three city Australian tour.

Fans flocked to St Kilda's Palais Theatre to see 15 former Eurovision artists, including 2013 Danish winner Emmelie De Forest and Ireland's Linda Martin (1992).

In a treat for Eurovision purists, the night opened with the traditional EBU Eurovision theme and graphic followed by a neutral flag parade featuring all of the artists.

Each artist's performance was preceded by a postcard featuring current photos and video, along with pictures and footage from their actual Eurovision performances. Senhit (San Marino 2011, 2020, 2021) and Soraya (Spain 2009) then got proceedings underway, doubling as the show's hosts throughout the evening where they practiced some Aussie slang with the audience during breaks in the show.

Australians Dami Im (2016) and Silia Kapsis (Cyprus 2024) were arguably the most popular performers with the home crowd, though there were massive cheers for fan-favourites 'Sunstroke Project' (Moldova 2010, 2017) and 'The Roop' (Lithuania 2020, 2021) who had everyone on their feet from the beginning of their postcards.

Also a hit with the crowd was Malta's Destiny (2020, 2021) with many following the 22 year-old's career since the powerhouse vocalist won Junior Eurovision in 2015.

Other artists to perform included Efendi (Azerbaijan 2020,2021), Ovi and Ilinca (Romania 2010, 2014, 2017), Suzy (Portugal 2014), Esther Hart (Netherlands 2003), Nicki French (United Kingdom 2000) and Jalisse (Italy 1997).

Many of the artists also included other Eurovision favourites as part of their set with Waterloo, Fuego, SloMo, Euphoria, My Number One, Insieme: 1992 and inaugural winner Refrain featuring as part of the show.

For many of the artists it was their first time visiting Australia and they were blown away by the fan support so far from home. Both 'Sunstroke Project' and 'The Roop' even recorded footage of the crowd to post to their social media followers back home.

Limited tickets are still available for tomorrow night's Sydney show at the Enmore Theatre. Ticket details: https://www.eurovisionontour.tv/
