Swedish broadcaster SVT today announced the full list of artists and songs competing in next year's Melodifestivalen. The line-up is stacked with big names that include a former Eurovision winner along with two other former winners of the national selection show.
Måns Zelmerlöw returns to Melodifestivalen for the first time since Heroes won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. He will also be joined by fellow former Swedish Eurovision contestants John Lundvik (5th - 2019) and Arvingarna (7th - 1993).
Two of last year's participants are also returning for another crack at the Eurovision stage in the six-week show that will determine who will represent Sweden at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
In all, 13 of the 30 artists competing in 2025 have previous Melodifestivalen experience which should make for a very entertaining and competitive series of shows.

As in 2024, the competition will have five heats of six songs each with the top two songs from each heat qualifying directly for the final. However in a change for next year, only the third-place song from each heat will advance to a final qualification round. The top two songs from the final qualification round will also advance to the 12 song final.
In another change for next year, all competing songs will be released on streaming platforms the day before their heat. This is the first time this has happened since the multi-show format began in 2002.
Melodifestivalen will start on Saturday 1 February 2025 (Sunday 2 February Australian time) with the Grand Final to take place on Saturday 8 March 2025 (Sunday 9 March Australian time).
