Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has announced the lineup for the country’s Eurovision selection contest,
Söngvakeppnin 2025, with ten artists to battle it out for a ticket to Basel, Switzerland in May.
A total of 110 entries were submitted for Söngvakeppnin 2025, a similar number to last year.
The artists competing in Söngvakeppnin 2025 and their songs are:
Ágúst: Eins og þú / Like You
BIRGO: Ég flýg í storminn/ I fly into the storm
Tinna: Þrá/ Words
Stebbi JAK: Frelsið Mitt / Set Me Free
VÆB: RÓA/CALM
Dagur Sig: Flugdrekar/Carousel
BIA: Norðurljós / Northern Lights
Bjarni Arason: Aðeins lengur/ A little longer
Bára Katrín: Rísum upp / Rise Above
Juli and Dísa: Eldur / Fire

Söngvakeppnin 2025 will be held RVK Studios in Gufunes in northeastern Reykjavík over three
weeks, with the first semi-final on February 8, the second semi-final on February 15 and the final
night on February 22. Five artists will perform in each semi-final with three songs advancing to the
final. The winner will be chosen from a 50/50 split of votes from the public and 7 international
juries.
The contest will be hosted by Benedikt Valsson, Fannar Sveinsson and Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir. They
all have previous presented the show and Guðrún Dís commentated for Iceland at the Eurovision
Song Contest in 2024.
Last year the contest was won by Hera Björk and her track Scared of Heights, which placed last in the
first semi-final at Eurovision 2024, leaving Iceland out of the final for the second year in a row. Other
past winners include Daði & Gagnamagnið (2020) and Diljá (2023)
