This year, Italy will be represented at Junior Eurovision 2024 by Simone Grande with Pigiama party.

You can find details on the entry, the artist, and the history of Italy at Junior Eurovision below.

About the artist: Simone Grande

Simone Grande, age 11, hails from Rozzano - a few kilometers south of Milan.

He rose to prominence locally after winning the second edition of the Italian version of The Voice Kids. Part of team Clementino, he competed against other talented singers on Loredana Bertè, Gigi D'Alessio, and Arisa's teams.

During the competition, he sang iconic tunes such as Marco Mengoni's L'essenziale (7th place at Eurovision 2013) and Lara Fabian's Adagio. Lara herself represented Luxembourg in 1988 placing 4th with the entry Croire. Simone's official YouTube channel features a stunning cover of Brividi by Mahmood and Blanco (6th at Eurovision 2022). Simone has an affinity for captivating Eurovision covers.

The Voice Kids has become a pipeline for Junior Eurovision artists from Italy, the inaugural winner Melissa Agliottone represented the nation last year alongside Ranya.

Simone discovered singing a few years ago - having a chance encounter with karaoke at a local restaurant.

About the song: Pigiama party

Released on 27 September 'Pigiama Party' is primarily in Italian with some English feature lines.

The song leans into the vein of 'chill EDM' with a bright, fun, and funky production - fitting for a children's song contest. The music video follows the story of Simone throwing a pyjama party and all the joyous fun of hanging out and celebrating with friends that ensues. A relatable and memorable experience for many young children.

Despite the charming fluff of the entry, the final chorus gives Simone a chance to demonstrate his stellar vocals, hitting a big A5 to finish.

Italy in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

This year will mark Italy's tenth participation at Junior Eurovision. The country has had a successful presence at Junior Eurovision, winning on debut in 2014 with the wonderful entry 'Tu primo grande amore' performed by Vincenzo Cantiello. Their second-best result was third in 2016 with 'Cara Mamma (Dear Mom)' performed by Fiamma Boccia.

In recent years, they've had consistent Top 10 results with most entries sung in Italian and English. The nation has yet to host a Junior Eurovision contest.
