Georgia has internally selected Mariam Shengelia to represent them at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Freedom.
22-year-old Mariam Shengelia gained national recognition by participating in X Factor Georgia in 2018 as a 14-year-old where she reached the semi-finals. In 2019, Mariam continued to make strides in her music career by competing in Georgian Idol where she finished in sixth place.
Mariam's musical journey also includes her participation in the 2021 edition of The Voice Georgia, and then in 2024 she participated in Dancing with the Stars. She does already have a link to Eurovision as she provided backing vocals to the 2020 Georgian Eurovision song, Tornike Kipiani's Take Me As I Am.
Freedom is performed in both Georgian and English and is written by Keti Gabisiani and Buka Kartozia.
Mariam will perform Freedom in the second half of the second semi-final.
