Miriana Conte has won what many have called the most highly anticipated and talked about edition of MESC for many years, and will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with her song Kant.

Miriana Conte is a Maltese singer and performer who has previously competed in the Maltese national final, MESC, on no less than five occasions, in 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Often praised for her huge vocals and stage presence, Miriana had nonetheless not broken through the crowd with her previous entries - until this year, when her song Kant immediately caused a stir online.

The word "kant" in Maltese translates to "singing",

Miriana Conte has the task of ending a three-year non-qualification streak for Malta in Malmö, after Emma Muscat (2022), The Busker (2023) & Sarah Bonnici (2024) failed to progress past the semi-finals. Malta last qualified for the grand final in 2021 with Destiny's Je Me Casse, who was one of the hot favourites, but she ended up finishing seventh overall.

Malta has participated in Eurovision on 36 occasions since the country first entered in 1971. Its best result was in 2005 when Chiara was runner-up in Kyiv, Ukraine with Angel. She is also responsible for one of Malta's two third place finishes with The One That I Love in 1998 in Birmingham, UK.

Malta will perform in the second half of the second semi-final (Australia are performing in the first half of the same semi-final) at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland on Thursday, May 15.
