Tonight the Norwegian broadcaster NRK revealed the 9 artists taking part in their national selection show Melodi Grand Prix (MGP).
The competition has undergone changes for 2025. Most notably, it will be a stand-alone final with all 8 artistsinstead of using multiple heats over several weeks. Additionally, the venue will be Oslo Spektrum, which last hosted MGP in 2018.
The final is on Saturday 15 February (Sunday 16 February in Australia).
NRK initially indicated 10 artists would compete this year, just an hour before the announcement Norwegian news outlet TV2 reported two artists withdrew from the competition: Lavrans Svendsen and Angelina Jordan.
Music director Tarjei Strøm commented on Svendsen's withdrawal "Our task is to make sure the artist is ready – and it is important to respect those who are not.". It is believed Jordan has withdrawn due to the Los Angeles fires, living there for many years with friends affected.
