Portugal: Artists and Songs announced for Festival da Cançao 2025

Portuguese broadcaster RTP has released the songs and artists competing in 'Festival Da Canção' 2025, the annual selection to find Portugal’s Eurovision entry.


Two semi-finals and a grand final will take place over three weeks, starting on 22 February 2025 (European time). As always, the grand final will be hosted by Portuguese TV legend Filomena Cautela accompanied by Vasco Palmeirim.


The semifinals will be hosted by Jorge Gabriel and José Carlos Malato (for semifinal 1) and Tânia Ribas de Oliveira and Sónia Araújo (for semifinal 2)


The 10 songs participating in semifinal 1 are:


  • Bluay - Ninguém

  • Capital da Bulgária - Lisboa

  • Du Nothin - Sobre Nós

  • Josh - Tristeza

  • Jéssica Pina - Calafrio

  • Marco Rodrigues - A Minha Casa

  • Margarida Campelo - Eu Sei Que O Amor

  • Peculiar - Adamastor

  • Rita Sampaio - Voltas

  • Xico Gaiato - Ai Senhor


The 10 songs participating in semifinal 2 are:


  • A Cantadeira - Responso à Mulher

  • Bombazine - Apago Tudo

  • Diana Vilarinho - Cotovia

  • Emmy Curl - Rapsódia da Paz

  • Fernando Daniel - Medo

  • Henka - I Wanna Destroy You

  • Inês Marques Lucas - Quantos Queres

  • Luca Argel ft. Pri Azevedo - Quem Foi

  • Napa - Deslocado

  • Tota - á-tê-xis

Six songs will qualify from each of the semifinals to form a final lineup of 12 in the grand final.


Portugal was represented at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest by iolanda and her song, 'Grito'. The song qualified for the Grand Final where it finished 10th. Portugal won its first and only Eurovision trophy in 2017, thanks to Salvador Sobral and 'Amar pelos dois'.
