This weekend is the Grand Final of Sweden's Melodifestivalen, where the nation will decide its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Hosted by Edvin Törnblom and Kristina "Keyyo" Petrushina from Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, twelve artists will battle it out to see who will win the ticket to represent Sweden in Basel.

The songs competing - ranked by the Aussievision team

Fourteen members of the Aussievision team have weighed in on who they want to see win, using Eurovision-style scoring to rank their top 10 acts from 12 points down to one.

12. Annika Wickihalder - Life Again (30 points)

Highs: 7 points from Cooper

Lows: 0 points from John Christian, Sam, Liv, Troy and Kiel, 1 point from Cooper and Dale, 2 points from Jamie, Tim and Laura

11. Saga Ludvigsson - Hate You So Much (39 points)

Highs: 8 points from Troy

Lows: 0 points from Jamie and Emma, 1 point from Craig and Tim, 2 points from John Christian, Dale and Joel

10. Maja Ivarsson - Kamikaze Life (39 points)

Highs: 12 points from Laura

Lows: 0 points from Cooper, Craig, Dale, Liv and Joel, 2 points from Emma, Fleur and Kiel

"Haters gonna hate me for ranking this song first, but I have no regrets - this song speaks to me and is jam-packed with 2000s indie rock goodness. It might be the nostalgia talking, but I am overjoyed to see the lead singer of The Sounds turn up in Melfest with that same sound that first captivated me over half my lifetime ago. The song is punchy, it kicks arse, and I love the subject matter of the lyrics too - I love living my best “kamikaze life” travelling around Europe!" ~ Laura

9. John Lundvik - Voice of the Silent (49 points)

Highs: 10 points from Tim and Joel, 8 points from Sam

Lows: 0 points from Craig and Laura, 1 point from John Christian, Cooper, Emma, Liv and Troy

"This is by far John Lundvik’s best song at Melfest. It has a great uplifting energy and has a very anthemic power swelling from within the song. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it would be a decent enough song." ~ Tim

"John’s vocals absolutely melt me! It might not quite be a Melfest-winning song, but wow, he delivers it beautifully." ~ Joel

8. Erik Segerstedt - Show Me What Love Is (49 points)

Highs: 12 points from Tim, 8 points from Fleur

Lows: 0 points from John Christian, Joel and Laura, 1 point from Jamie, 2 points from Craig, Sam and Liv

"I think the defining characteristic of this song is that it feels like a real song. It just has a good solid structure to it that sounds unique. There is a lot of vague beige in this year's final and I think there is something here that is part rock/ part alternative ballad. I think there is something quite different about this song, it’s got a lure of enigma that comes from this song. I don’t think it’s the best song for Sweden to win again but it’s probably the most interesting song of the 12." ~ Tim

7. Scarlet - Sweet n' Psycho (57 points)

Highs: 8 points from Jamie and Tim

Lows: 0 points from Dale, 1 point from Fleur and Joel, 2 points from Troy

6. Dolly Style - Yihaa (64 points)

Highs: 10 points from Laura, 8 points from Kiel

Lows: 0 points from Emma, Sam and Fleur

"As a certified horse girl myself, the message of "yee haw get on the horse" is extremely deep and poetic. As the saying we are all told as children goes "When you fall off a horse, you get back on again". It really spoke to my inner child." ~ Liv

"Sometimes I just need a silly, fun song to switch my brain off and enjoy for three minutes, and Dolly Style provides exactly that in a joyful, candy-coloured package! So delighted to see Dolly Style finally make it to a Melfest final after so many years, it’s been long overdue!" ~ Laura

5. Greczula - Believe Me (69 points)

Highs: 12 points from Craig, 10 points from Jamie, Emma and Fleur, 8 points from Joel

Lows: 0 points from Cooper, Tim, Troy and Kiel, 1 point from Laura

"What a breath of fresh air for a Melfest track! The Queen/Bowie influences are heavy here and aren't particularly subtle, but in this line-up, Greczula sounds fresh as a daisy and has great staging to boot (the flying piano!) Honestly think he's a bit hard done by to be in this quite strong Melfest line-up - in other years, I reckon he could have challenged for the win." ~ Craig

"His voice is amazing and many others online have commented it gives Freddie Mercury vibes. In what is again a very competitive Melfest this year, he would represent Sweden admirably if the current hot favourite Måns doesn't win." ~ Jamie

"With arguably one of the most authentic and uplifting performances at Melfest this year, Greczula shone bright as a Freddie Mercury/David Bowie inspired glam rocker with a song that sounded anything but dated. I haven't felt this inspired by a Melfest entry since Cornelia Jakobs in 2022. Sometimes we become so used to the style of the usual team of Swedish songwriters that when a self-written song comes along that breaks the mold, it really stands out and this is a gem with a knockout performance to match." ~ Emma

"I love his raspy voice. Yes, the song has that unmistakable Swedish Eurovision sound but he gives a certain genuineness to his co-written song. There's a 1980s sound to this song which I really enjoy too." ~ Fleur

4. Meira Omar - Hush Hush (81 points)

Highs: 12 points from Troy, 10 points from John Christian and Liv

Lows: 0 points from Jamie and Fleur, 1 point from Kiel

"If neither Mans nor KAJ wins in this highly competitive Melodifestivalen, she would be the likeliest to win. There is absolutely no question that she would slay in Basel and would put Erika Vikman, Miriana Conte, Justyna, and Melody a run for their money." ~ John Christian

"This will be one of my most streamed tunes of the year - I love the fusion of genres here in both production and choreography. Meira is an absolute babe and kills the live performance, I'm obsessed. Not even a cameraman eating dirt could stop her making the Melfest final." ~ Liv

"I have had this song in my head for weeks. I love it. It’s so fun. Meira is a stunner and there’s nothing in any national final that sounds like this. It would be something unique for Sweden to send instead of their excellent but formulaic pop dominance." ~ Troy

3. Måns Zelmerlöw - Revolution (103 points)

Highs: 12 points from John Christian, Cooper, Emma and Joel, 8 points from Craig and Dale

Lows: 1 point from Sam

"I think this will definitely win the most competitive Melodifestivalen editions in recent memory, with bangers all around, but this would give the edge given that he has already won for Sweden in Eurovision almost a decade ago." ~ John Christian

"Yes I will say I may have a bias seeing as I have a Heroes tattoo on my arm but Måns is back and he's back with Hereos 2.0. Whilst the staging and song are solid but nothing insane, this has the jury appeal to go all the way. If Sweden want a song with the best chances of winning Eurovision then it's Revolution." ~ Cooper

"Everyone knows I'm Måns biggest fan and I'll admit I am awarding my 12 points based partly on the singer and not the song. But having said that I think 'Revolution' would be a worthy winner of Melodifestivalen this year. Måns has the voice and brings the right amount of emotion to his delivery. There's angst but there's also hope which particularly comes across jn the final minute of the song. In a year where we don't have a lot of seriousness in the competition so far, a song like 'Revolution' could really pack a punch. If it makes it to Basel, I believe it would have a strong chance of taking home Sweden's 8th Eurovision title." ~ Emma

"For me, Måns is the only choice for the Melfest win. While I would have loved to see more musical progression rather than a “Heroes” reboot, this song still screams jury winner—and I expect it to pull in a big chunk of public votes too." ~ Joel

2. KAJ - Bara bada bastu (111 points)

Highs: 12 points from Fleur, Dale and Kiel, 10 points from Craig, Sam and Troy, 8 points from Cooper, Emma and Liv

Lows: 0 points from Tim

"I mean, it's just delightful, isn't it? I don't know if this is the most competitive tune in Melfest this year, but it's gotten people talking for a reason. The three boys all come across as intensely charming and likeable, and this manages the feat of being both professional and fun/a tad novelty. Wonderful." ~ Craig

"I love this entry for so many reasons. Not only is it addictive like Swedish vodka, it is a great showcase of Nordic culture. If Norwegians can represent Sweden at Eurovision last year, why not Finns? And they are singing in Swedish which is long overdue an appearance on the Eurovision stage. I hope the Swede's see past this being a joke entry, and rather an opportunity to showcase their culture in a catchy way." ~ Sam

"This is different to what we hear at Melfest. It's a fun song about Finland's greatest export and it's in Swedish. I'm ready for Sweden to take a chance to shake things up a bit." ~ Fleur

"It's easy to dismiss this as a "novelty" song and, look, it does have a lot of "fun" about it. But it's got a killer catchy chorus, it's well produced and it's performed so well (the staging is excellent). I did love Norway MGP song Bli med meg på gar'n back in 2021 and this is like an elevated version of that - so of course it was going to be my 12 points!" ~ Dale

"Your life will never be the same after sauna. This is another fun offering that I can’t get out of my head. I am much preferring the escapism of comical pop than the attempts at delivering a message, which to me feel a bit engineered and insincere. Maybe it’s my Aussie tall poppy syndrome talking?" ~ Troy

"Sweden, it's time to do something different. PLEASE SEND THIS! In a year where novelty and fun is starting to shine, these boys and their Sauna anthem fit the bill perfectly and will bring a new side to the traditional Eurovision powerhouse. They might not win it, but, sending Mans with a not-as-good-as-Heroes effort will come across as predictable and probably not earn enough fandom for him to do a Loreen and win it again. So why not send something fresh, fun and non-sterotypical. Send the Sauna Sweden!" ~ Kiel

1. Klara Hammarström - On and On and On (120 points)

Highs: 12 points from Jamie, Sam and Liv, 10 points from Cooper, Dale and Kiel, 8 points from John Christian and Laura

Lows: 6 points from Craig and Emma and Joel

"I really want Klara to get to Eurovision, she deserves the ticket but with a powerhouse like Måns it's gonna be a very difficult hurdle to jump. On and On and On is Swedish plastic pop perfection. Nothing's original but god it's catchy!" ~ Cooper

"I would absolutely love to see Klara win Melfest on her 4th attempt. This is my favourite of her previous song entries. It is just so well staged and all aspects of her song would translate well to the Eurovision stage. I suspect though she will miss out again based on the odds, but I can only dream." ~ Jamie

"The Swedish pop princess is back! With an absolute banger! I really liked the production of this on the Melfest stage, especially the Grecian theme. The title is a little stupid yes, but other than that this is pop perfection. I’m honestly stunned she didn’t win her semi, but proof is in the pudding she was number 1 on the Swedish charts last week. I hope she gets the chance to go to Eurovision one day, and at the very least she deserves her best ever Melfest placing with this song." ~ Sam

"There's a lot going on (and on and on ) in the staging of this and 90% of it works! She's great, the song is well produced and good Swedish pop." ~ Dale

"The moment I saw this performance I was transfixed by the story and song. It has an interesting musical composition where it is so predictable and formulaic it almost surprises how how unique the whole package is. Everything is choreographed so carefully but it culminates in a really, really compelling package that doesn't take itself too seriously. This is the type of over-produced, highly polished stuff I come to Sweden for." ~ Liv

"Could this be fifth time lucky for Klara? While she is obviously up against it with Mans and KAJ leading the way, this package is ready for a cut-and-paste in Basel and will add an obvious injection of classy Swedish pop with serious eye candy to this year's competition." ~ Kiel
