Australia's 2023 Eurovision act and all-round legends Voyager have announced some heartwarming and exciting news for fans - their live return!
The band have had to put most of their activities - especially playing live - on hold for the past 18 months due to frontman Danny Estrin's cancer battle - which he's still dealing with.
The band made a brief comeback for a short set at the Rugby Sevens tournament at HBF Park in Perth in January, and have also been doing their Voyager Reacts video series on their YouTube channel for a second year, analysing the competitors in this year's contest in Basel.
But on Monday night came an exciting sudden announcement - the band will perform two exclusive shows in their hometown of Perth: Voyager By Day in late June and Voyager By Night in early July.
The first show is an all-ages, afternoon 'matinee' show at the Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 21 June. Only 200 tickets are available, and the event will feature an intimate performance from the band, cover songs, a meet-and-greet and a charity auction in support of cancer research. Gig goers (regardless of their age) are invited to dress up for "a sequin-studded celebration".
The second show will be a full Voyager live performance at Magnet House on Friday 4 July which is an 18+ show. It's set to be one hell of a performance as the band play their first full live show in about two years and "celebrate survival, music, and everything that brought us here."
Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Wednesday, 16 April at 10am AWST (12pm AEST) via oztix.com.au

"The past 18 months have been a roller coaster, but we are overjoyed to be able to announce that this Perthian winter we will make our exclusively local live comeback with two very special events," the band wrote on Facebook.
"We have no idea when this will happen again so let’s gather and stare into the night – together."
Danny was diagnosed with cancer in September 2023 - and it forced Voyager to scrap their extensive tour planned for Europe and Australia to promote latest album Fearless In Love, which they had only released two months earlier in July.
In May that year, Voyager got their long overdue moment representing Australia at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, UK - where they finished 9th with their song Promise. This was followed by a sold-out homecoming tour of club shows around the country in June.
The most recent update we got from Danny on his cancer battle was in December when the band announced their spot at the Rugby Sevens.
"The last couple of months have not been great unfortunately, the cancer is a nasty one," he said.
"It's kind of spreading its tendrils around my system which is not ideal. But new medications, new medicine, new chemotherapy, that continues."
"But I'm not letting it stop us from doing stuff, we have been in the studio recording two amazing songs. We've also decided, 'let's play live' because we really miss it."
Danny has also been popping up as Australia's representative for a handful of vote counts. He read out Australia's votes at last year's contest in Malmo, Sweden, and also did similar duties for this year's Melodi Grand Prix in Norway - the Norweigan national final.
All of us at Aussievision are stoked for Voyager's live return and wish Danny and the band continued good health and success as they prepare for the shows.
